It’s been over a week since Eric Bolling was suspended from Fox News over allegations that he had sent lewd photos of himself to female colleagues. Now, things have unfortunately gotten even worse for him.
That Huffington Post contributor Yashar Ali spoke out on Sunday to say that Bolling is attempting to intimidate him into silence by filing a $50 million dollar defamation lawsuit against his reporting.
“He is trying to intimidate me. He sees me as a young reporter that may be scared by big lawsuits. But if he wants to wade into this pond, I’m happy to go in with him,” Ali told CNN host Brian Stelter.
Ali went on to say that the lawsuit goes after him personally, rather than naming The Huffington Post.
“My life history has given me a lot of experience to not be scared by these things,” the reporter said, adding that he stands by the story and that he verified it with 14 sources. He said Bolling was “wrong” to file a lawsuit.
“He’s wrong because I spent three months on this story. As you said, I have 14 sources. I’ve spoken to the victims, and that’s on a factual basis. I know he’s wrong,” Ali continued, adding that “the best defense of defamation is the truth.
